Hi, Simon here - A quick update on things happening in the youth and young adults spaces this term at BBC!

TLDR Version:

  • Pod, DGs & Young Adults Connect Groups usually run weeks 2-9.

  • First Pod: Friday 14th Feb • 6:30-8:30

  • First DGs: Monday 10th Feb • 3:30-4:30

  • First Young Adults Connect Groups: Monday 10th Feb • 6:30-8:30

Pod Youth

Fridays 6:30-8:30 • Weeks 2-9 • Years 6-10

Parent / Carer permission forms are renewed annually. Save time in the iPad kiosk queue on Friday and register online beforehand!

This term’s theme is 'Seeking the Good Life' - through our usual games, discussions & activities we're exploring the Bible’s invitation to live life walking alongside Jesus - a life of purpose, wisdom, and hope.

As usual we’ll operate weeks 2-9 of the school term.

The youth page is kept up to date with the latest dates and info but here are a few highlights:

  • Fri 14th Feb - First Pod for the year!

  • Fri 14th Mar - A Combined Youth Event

  • Sat 29th Mar - Pod Event

DGs (Discipleship Groups)

Mondays 3:30-4:30pm • Weeks 2-9 • Years 7-10

Yr7-8s: I will be leading the group through a Bible study series exploring how we fit into God’s story

Yr9-10s: Sonya will be opening up Luke’s Gospel with the teens helping them see the amazing claims of Jesus for themselves firsthand!

Young Adults Connect Groups

Mondays 6:30-8:30pm • Weeks 2-9 • For Year 11+

The Young Adults Connect Group is all about older teens and young adults seeking to encourage each other as we apprentice to the way of Jesus - growing in our trust & love for Him. We do this with regular time to connect with each other, pray together, and study the Bible - building confidence in our own Bible reading skills.

We encourage group members to commit to each other and attend weekly as much as possible - you’ll notice the impact on your group experience! More details click here.

When
Mondays 6:30-8:30pm. The first one for the year is Mon 10th Feb.

Leaders
The groups are led by a team of Leaders: Simon Holmes, Alex Kim, Rod Blennerhassett, and Heidi Penfold

Where
This year we have two groups:

  • In Reinscourt with Heidi

  • At the Church Building with Simon, Alex & Rod (multiple prayer and study groups)

Registration
Anyone under 18 must have a parent/carer permission form to attend.

Keep up to date

Our main communication happens through a Facebook Messenger group. This thread is a meaningful part of our community/connection approach and all young adults at BBC are encouraged to join.

When you first attend, one of the leaders will add you to the message thread. You can also feel free to 'friend' any one of us and ask us to add you!
